Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has enjoined the 2013 Batch 'A' Corps Members not to be deterred by the current economic climate of the nation, but to see it as a challenge to rekindle their spirit of patriotism.
Okorocha, who spoke at closing ceremony of orientation course for the corps members, commended the youths for their orderly conduct during the programme. He also announced N10,000 as monthly stipend for corps members posted to government establishments.
Okorocha directed members of his cabinet and other well meaning indigenes of the state with accommodations to release same to corps members.
He further promised to build a befitting orientation camp for corps members deployed to the state. Coordinator of NYSC in the state, Mrs. Chinwe Ojukwu, in her remarks advised the corps members to be law-abiding and respect the customs and traditions of their host communities.
"We have ensured that all local governments in this state get a fair share of corps presence to assist them in improving the lot of our people at the grassroots," he said.
