Auditions
for Nigeria Got Talent, the reality television talent hunt show
sponsored by Airtel, have ended but not without some drama.
One of the contestants,
Jude James, 26, actually made Nollywood diva, Kate Henshaw, to shed
tears when he came on stage and performed Micheal Jackson’s hit song, Heal the World.
His rendition,
accompanied by his performance on the piano, was so on point that the
three judges had no choice but to give him a ‘yes.’
But as emotional as they
were with James, the other side of the coin was what Ndanyomo
Ogbonnaya, 48, got when he came on stage to sing. Kate was quick to tell
him he wasn’t in his right element as she fumed, “I hated it, every bit
of it!”
But that was not all.
Another contestant, Peter Nweke, was not spared the judges’ stinging
remarks when his performance failed to impress them. Yibo Koko actually
described his performance as bland and tasteless, saying “The content
you have is so bland and tasteless, even underground average, you no reach.”
Whoever emerges the
winner of the talent show will go home with a cool N10m. Little wonder
the contestants trooped out en mass in all the cities to try their luck.
