In a city like Lagos where there is constant stress from living, you have to learn one major skill. No, its not survival!!!
You need to learn how to party like a rock star B-)!!! Who else will give us tips other than Rhythm FM‘s OAP Toke Makinwa. Toke was a year older and she partied hard at the Bachuss Night Club with her girls. In attendance was Eku Edewor, Banky W, Tolu ‘Toolz’ Oniru, Davido, Ebuka and a host of others. Follow us on this journey as we learn from the seasoned Miss Makinwa on how to party like a rock star.
Step 1: Party with your girlfriends. A party is never a party without your girlfriends!!! Be sure to tell them not to look as hot as you. You should note that a rock star’s entourage NEVER looks hotter than the rockstar herself. Also make sure there’s someone holding cotton candy behind you. Nothing says sweet like cotton candy.
Step 2: Drop some moves. It would be serious ‘falling-of-hand‘ if your friends take all the shine from you because they can dance better than you. Infact, you must polish up on all your Azonto and Etighi moves before the D-day. Watch Iyanya’s ‘Your Waist’ and Fuse’s ‘Azonto‘ to make sure those dance moves are 10/10.
Step 3: Take a picture with the stars. Even though you are a star, it wont do to act like a snob, afterall these folks are here to celebrate you. So find a star or two with which you can take pictures with be sure to have your pout in place and three stars as your earrings too. Everyone must know you had your game face on that night.
Step 4: ……and a few hot boys too. Nothing makes a party rock than hot hot, oh-so-hot boys. *swoon* . Your street credibility would go a few notches up when your friends are hot. imagine your other friends going through the photos and asking, ‘Who’s that hot stud?’ and you reply, ‘Oh him?! He’s just one of my old friends jare.’ Trust me, who doesn’t want to be associated with hot men???
Step 5: Wear a gold dress, paint your finger nails green and orange and your lips signature pink. Yes you are a rock star but you are also a diva. NEVER forget that!!!
Step 6: Pally up with the colleagues. Even though you work at Rhythm FM and she works at Beat FM, you need to show that there is solidarity. Let peeps know that you are in a good rapport with your colleagues in the business.
Step 7: Scream or have a ridiculously big grin when your cake is brought in (even though they are just cupcakes). That way, you’ll show that you are super excited by the fireworks happening all around you. Make sure the camera people are on standby to catch that grin o and that there are people at hand to dance Azonto too. You know these things now, you can never be too prepared.
Step 8: Finally, make sure Ik Osakioduwa is present. You know what they say, ‘No one party’s like the wild child‘. Also make sure you take a picture with Karen Igho too. There’s a reason she won BBA.
There you have it. Trust me when you follow these steps, you’ll know (no one will have to tell you) that you have partied like a rock star. You can thank me later.
