Always in and on my Heart:Rihanna honours late grandmother with tattoo

Rihanna has paid tribute to her late grandmother with a tattoo alluding to her as a goddess.
The Russian Roulette singer, who performed at the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics tonight, posted a revealing snapshot on Instagram of the etching on her chest between her breasts.
Holding her arm across her bare cleavage for modesty, a large image of the Egyptian goddess Isis can be seen, kneeling with her wings spread and spanning across Rihanna's ribcage.

Rihanna posted this picture of her new tattoo online, alongside the caption: 'Goddess Isis - Complete Woman - Model for future generations - #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart #1love'

Isis is said to be 'the ideal mother and wife' as well as friend to slaves, sinners and the downtrodden.
In July, the chart-topper's grandmother passed away following a long battle with cancer.
After performing at the Wireless Festival in London's Hyde Park, she jetted back to her native Barbados, where she attended the funeral of her late relative.
At the time she wrote: 'Words can't explain the essence of her beauty.'
Yesterday, Rihanna added the latest etching to her already heavily-tattooed body.
Emerging from a parlour in London's Soho, the Grammy-winner was seen flashing her midriff as she raised her sweatshirt to reveal the clingfilm and masking tape used to cover fresh inkings

Time to party: Rihanna couldn't resist a touch of patriotism on her bag with the US flag

The 24-year-old looked pleased with the results, showing off her flat stomach - and new pixie hairdo - to passers-by who were eager for an autograph.
But it seems one individual is not too taken with her new tomboy crop, with loudmouth Piers Morgan tweeting: 'I think @Rihanna needs to grow her hair back. Fast.'
To which she chirpily responded: 'grow a d**k..... FAST!!!!'
A little more cryptically, Rihanna also seems to have alluded to her romance with Chris Brown.

The pair initially dated for just over a year, before their now infamous altercation at the Grammys in February 2009 where she was forced to cancel her appearance after he beat her black and blue.
She is rumoured to have embarked on a second attempt at love with him after their flirtation at the VMAs on Thursday where they publicly hugged one another and she was seen offering a kiss.
What appeared to be a stream of consciousness, she wrote: 'Red lipstick. Rose petals. Heartbreak... I was his Marilyn Monroe... Brown eyes... Tuxedo... Fast cars... A James Dean on the low.'
Poignantly, the Barbadian beauty added: 'What's love without tragedy?'

The new piece of body art follows Rihanna's picture of a flying Egyptian falcon in the shape of a handgun which she had done just above her right ankle in June.
It is believed to be her 18th tattoo, in addition to a pistol on her thigh, cross on her collarbone, music note on her ankle, Pisces sign behind her right ear and the word 'love' on her left middle finger.
She also has a trail of stars emblazoned on the back of her neck, alongside the French saying 'Rebelle Fleur' - which means rebellious flower.
