Bobbi Kristina Brown kept her mother’s legend going in the best way she knows how by getting a tattoo done in her honour.
The daughter of the late singer and Bobby Brown explained on her reality show, The Houstons: On Our Own, that she had to wait for her family to be out of town when she had it done. She was joined by her fiancé, Nick Gordon, as the couple got matching tattoos of Whitney’s initials inked on their wrists with a meaningful design that she thought of herself.
Bobbi Kristina, 19, waited until the rest of her family were out of town at a Whitney Houston tribute gala before getting the permanent ‘WH’ applied. She said: ‘Now the family is out of town Nick and I are going to get matching tattoos in memory of our mother.”
Speaking about the creative thought process, she said: ‘They will be WH and four doves. The doves are me, Nicholas, my grandfather and my mother. They were my heroes and now I can look down and my mother, she’s my guardian angel.”
While the pair are not actually blood related, Bobbi and Nick grew up together after Houston took him in at the age of 12 when his father went to prison and his mother was unable to take care of him.
Nick was never formally adopted by the singer, and with Bobbi’s mother passing away in February the couple have been sharing her $1.2million Atlanta home together. Bobbi Kristina’s grandmother, Cissy Houston, is not happy about the pair dating and branded their relationship ‘incestuous’ in an interview with TMZ.
